Intern Spotlight: Bridget Cahill

Bridget Cahill has been an intern at Athens Wellness Clinic since August 2024, bringing curiosity, compassion, and a strong commitment to community health to everything she does.

Currently studying Biology at the University of Georgia, Bridget plans to graduate in May 2027 and hopes to attend PA school, with a long-term goal of working in oncology. She discovered Athens Wellness Clinic while researching healthcare practices in Athens and was immediately drawn to the Clinic’s mission and community-centered approach to care.

What inspired Bridget to get involved was a desire to gain meaningful exposure to healthcare outside of a traditional hospital environment. She was motivated by the opportunity to both serve her community and learn more about her future profession in a setting rooted in long-term patient relationships and trust.

In her role as an intern, Bridget is involved primarily in patient intake and also supports our dispensary, helping ensure patients receive timely, respectful, and coordinated care. She is also working on an exciting initiative to start a club at UGA that would connect students with volunteering and community outreach opportunities at Athens Wellness Clinic. Stay tuned for more information about AWC @ UGA!

One of Bridget’s favorite aspects of working at the Clinic is seeing how long many patients have been coming to AWC. The continuity allows staff and volunteers to build real relationships with patients, something Bridget says makes her look forward to coming into the Clinic each day.

Outside of the Clinic and classroom, Bridget enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her family, friends, and dogs. We’re grateful for Bridget’s dedication and leadership, and we’re excited to see the impact she’ll continue to make both at Athens Wellness Clinic and in her future career.
